Cab Calloway Orchestra

At The Paramount

Led by "The Prince of Hi-De-Ho," C. Calloway Brooks (grandson of legendary jazzman Cab Calloway), the Cab Calloway Orchestra delivers the authentic sound of a hot jazz orchestra and stage show. Combining the band’s original vintage orchestration with a mix of musicians who have played together for decades, The Cab Calloway Orchestra creates the unforgettable sound of a modern jazz orchestra at the highest level.

Brooks proves through his stage presence that he has earned the right to lead his grandfather’s orchestra. Music is in his blood. At the age of seven he began to play the guitar, and he is a graduate from the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music, but he credits his year of experience with his grandfather as the cornerstone of his musical education.

During his career, Brooks has performed with the likes of Kenny Burrell, Ran Blake, Don Byron, Anthony Braxton, Sheila Jordan, Roy Merriweather, Ellis Larkins, Rufus Reid, Alan Dawson, Milton Hinton, Gary Bartz, Big Nick Nicholas, Cyrus Chestnut, Marshall Allen, and, of course, Cab Calloway.
